GENERAL APPEARANCE :
Strong with great nobility and elegance.

HEAD :
Noble. Expression is part of type.

CRANIAL REGION :
Skull : Dry, slightly rounded, not too broad.
Stop : Slight.

FACIAL REGION :
Nose : Brown; flesh-coloured patches on nose leather undesirable.
Muzzle : Strong, long; nasal bridge straight.
Lips : Short, well fitting.
Eyes : As dark brown as possible. Eyelids lying close to the eyeball and covering haw.
Leathers : Broad, set on high, close fitting, running to a point.
Must not reach too far beyond edge of lips.

NECK :
Medium length. Crest of neck muscular and slightly arched.

BODY :
Back : Firm, medium length.
Loin : Broad, firm.
Chest : Deep and roomy.
Underline and belly : Only slight tuck up.

TAIL :
Medium length,with long feathering carried straight. Last third may be lightly curved upwards.

LIMBS:

FOREQUARTERS : Forelegs straight, feathered.

HINDQUARTERS : Hind legs well angulated, with breeches.

FEET : Round, arched, tightly knit. Too much hair undesirable.

SKIN :
Taut.

COAT:

HAIR : Sleek, dense, medium length, hardly wavy; close fitting.

COLOUR : Brown-white, white ticked with brown (roan); tan markings permitted on muzzle and eyes (Jungklaus markings).

SIZE :
Height at the withers :
Dogs : 52-56 cm.
Bitches : 50-54 cm.

Permitted tolerance in height : Plus or minus 2 cm (measuring allowance).

FAULTS :
Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree.
· Entropium, ectropium; bird of prey eyes.
· Leather short-haired, smooth.
· Chest barrel shaped.

N.B. : Male animals should have two apparently normal testicles fully descended into the scrotum.
